VF Contest - 1st Call (Extended)

Wed Aug 18, 2004 9:42 pm

Folks,

** Moved across to seperate forum/thread - thanks Andy
** Registration & Submission dates moved

Hot News
The registration / submission process has been extended and simplified. The closing date for submission of videos is now by the end of day 11th September. Registration is no longer required (at least this time round) in order to keep things simple. You'll count as registered once the video is submitted.

I'm a bit conscious that we've discussed the virtual freestyle comp a fair bit and are at a point where it needs a trial run to really get a grip on what's needed and how it'll actually work out.

So... I'd like to call the very first Virtual Freestyle Contest 'Open' (editor's note: Decided on Virtual Freestyle for the name, given the title of the first topic raised)

Confirmed Entrants:
Davey
Shamu
Ed
Andy
Martin (I think)
Juha
SteveR
randyg
Matt
Rob Autrey
PaulG
The One (real name please?)

Post your intention to submit a clip in this thread. Please keep posts in this thread to topic. Use the 'Discussion' thread for comments etc.

I'd like to get on this if you guys don't mind someone from across the pond jumping in. :-D I am not sure if I can meet the deadline but if you let me in, I'll get to work on it.

Again, to confirm, you want a continuous clip roughly 60 seconds in length, right? Or would two clips put together suffice?

On the contrary - the more people we get from all over the world, the better. Already for this first run, it would be nice to have a lot of people taking part so we can see how well it works. :-D

One continuous clip of more or less 60 seconds. The flying itself mustn't be edited (but you can naturally add credits etc. to the video if you want). Otherwise we're in danger of having an editing contest instead of a freestyle kiting one. We're also trying to draw in those people too who don't necessarily have much experience of using video editing software, so we'll keep it simple and direct.
