VF 18

Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:06 pm

Round 18 will kick off this weekend, poster and all details will be put up later this week.

Some nice prizes this round, Jorgen from Sportkitedesign is offering a winter cap, umbrella, mug and 'Rafa' Mohawk graphic in a frame all with your choice of design (have you seen them on the Sportkitedesign website? or on SKD spreadshirt page

Carlo from IckyTV has very generously offered a Benson/Fizz Reflex (my knowledge of kites is pretty poor really, so if anybody can add some info about the Reflex, that would be great!

Also there will be a couple of VF mugs and from GWTW VF18 straps.

Video Hosting remains with Thomas and http://www.4liners.dk

All prizes will be given on the basis of a random draw.

Good! I already have some relatively decent footage I can use for my entry to VF18, will be looking forward for the details.
I will try to convince a couple of the good pilots here in Buenos Aires to enter VF18 too, maybe we can position an argentinian pilot among the best pilots in the next classification!

This is the Benson/Fizz Reflex which will be donated for a VF18 price.

Image

Aquired the sail a few years ago and framed by myself in 6mm pultruded carbon.
Since the LE cutouts were not the when i got it, i decided to do them the "covered" way.
Might need a wet cloth to wipe off the dust but the kite is almost new and still crispy.

I'm not sure what to do... maybe do something more then just a draw from the hat? Ideas anyone?

Nice looking kite that, possibly a little bit of freestyle history too!

Update on the straps from GWTW... 2 prizes. Each a set of wrist and finger straps with VF 18 embroidered on on of the straps.

This idea is still a draw but slightly different. Have 2 draws one for the prize then one for a winner. It is still just a random draw but it randomizes the order of the prizes.

I am thinking quite some time now about writing something to the distribution of prizes and I was always logging out to write not. But Carlo`s question let me think again and I want to share this with you.

From my perspective and feeling as a two times winner, I really would like to see the winner of each episode to win a prize. It`s not about giving the biggest prize to the best pilot and therefore giving the prizes to almost the same persons ever and ever again (otherwise Piero`s bag would be pretty big nowadays ;]).

But it is always a nice thing, if the best pilot is honored with a prize, even if it is something small.

I hope, you will understand me right and will not think it is all about prizes for me. Because it is not.

I 100% agree.

The mug is the most coveted of all VF prizes. One of these should always go to the winner. Someone with a collection of mugs (esp. if they could say VF 18, VF 19, etc.) is just a pimp then.

I personally think Piero should have a wall of mugs!
