Shall I bring a pair of wellies :?

I haven't been up there recently but the ground usually drains quickly and I have never seen puddles (apart from where cars have created ditches nearer the road). You shouldn't need wellies but waterproof shoes/boots might be more sensible than trainers.

Depending which forecast you believe (if any) we can expect cloudy to partly sunny weather and 8 to 13mph winds. So its Go Go Go!!

Aiming to get there for 10am. See you all there.

Sorry you can't make it Bryan (but at least it gives someone else a chance in the comps).
:D

OK - I'm in - are there any directions for the last 1/2 mile, e.g. signs to the car park etc. ?

Assuming you are coming from the east along the A48 take the slip road to Cowbridge (at the Mughal Emperor Indian restaurant) and turn right to head back over the A48, just past the petrol station turn left and you are there. The cafe has a car park but you can also pull off the road onto the grass (if it is muddy don't get stuck though).

See you there.

Great day out. Thanks to everyone for coming along and to Keith for making up for my lack of STACK competition awareness and generally disorganised approach to things. The weather delivered the goods later in the day but at least we managed to blow the sand out of our vented kites before the competition started.

Some photos:

Dave (Dai M) and Emil (Sub) ponder the Dark Side.

Keith (Mister Bleepy), Keith and Philip try to take judging duties seriously

Miles wonders how he ended up entering the multi line competition

Keith has threatened to post the results later.

Good to see you all again, had a good time with the competiton. Thanks Vee & Keith for letting me try out your very long dayglow kite tail, I now know what my next sewing machine project will be.
A nice location, well suited to the prevailing South Westerlies. Although I'm not sure what the legal way is of getting back on the westbound carriageway.
