I assume you’re talking about my last post with the Gary Matthews quote. I’m just pulling a friend’s leg. Gary is a very active member of the Flying Squad and he was saying that you shouldn’t use somebody else’s name. Now it seems, he thinks it’s okay, provided you use it for something different. Rumour has it, next week he’ll be launching Virgin Carpentry Services, just to see how quick of the mark Richard Branson's lawers are.

As for the PMs, don’t worry about them now, I hadn’t seen your avatar on FA and therefore thought you might not have been aware of what had been posted over here. I thought you would want the opportunity to sort things out. But it looks like everyone has kissed and made up now anyway. :-)

I'm Lost................sorry Ian as you say its a Kiting public forum, i can say within reason what i like, and if I think you have ripped a name off, then so be it.....thats my judgment.

@Bob, The Flying Squad (Police) as i know is a non profit making dept within the met police.... Where as the kiting Flying Squad makes huge profits each and every year........l :P

No Stone in Shoe Bob, thank you very much. Although I couldn't understand what you were on about in the first part of your PM I did get the gist on the second part.
Yes I was at that time unaware there was a problem and your heads-up allowed me to circumvent any further misunderstanding regarding the name problem. :D
As I previously posted I was unaware that my original post had found its way here, we seem to have generated a lot of interest in this Mass Rev gathering and it has gone further a field than I originally expected.
When we first considered putting on this event we just quickly put a name to it without really considering the large amount of interest which has been generated within such a short time.
Originally the event was targeted at MKF members and others based in and around the midlands but it seems with the addition of the Stack competition it has gone a lot further. :o

GREAT REV RACE
For those of you including John Barresi who haven’t attended MKF events before;
Over the last twelve months MKF Rev Fliers have been running a competition where you have to land specified parts of your kite in or on targets in an obstacle course. In addition this obstacle course must be completed in the shortest length of time, in other words you are being timed with a stopwatch. This has proved very popular at events drawing spectators to watch what have become very hard fought competitions often finishing with as little as 1 or 2 seconds between 1st and 2nd places.
The general rules are that you can enter using any Rev 1.5, but we have found that shorter lines of not less than 50ft are the best for this event.
The obstacle course consists of firstly a specially made REV TARGET consisting of a circular MDF disc about 12 inches in diameter suspended on a 28mm vertical metal tube approximately 18 inches long fixed into the ground. Secondly a plastic storage box usually 18” x 12” x 12” deep and a standard sized folding deck chair.
This competition is open to all comers so if you fancy entering then come along and join in the fun.

Why is no-one arguing vehemently that this is not a public forum and we all are merely barely-tolerated guests of Andy ? Oh right. 'Cos that's evident piffle. :x

I can say within reason what i like

What has reason got to do with it ?

and if I think you have ripped a name off, then so be it.....thats my judgment.

Apple seem to think, although they may be expensively mistaken, that there can be two iPhones..... why not two iQuads ? :-k

Never mind all the fuss Ian (sorry if my cross-post stirred something up), but at least we've got some interest in our local events!

Meanwhile for other UK quad teams... They've been practicing: I saw them do it :bigups:

See them (Wiiquad) at the winter league on 11th Feb and hopefully at the league final at Hatton on 18th March.

Exactly........That is the whole point of WiiQUAD, to promote Rev flying in numbers or teams rather than on your own all the time. I don't know about you but when I first started flying Revs I didn't see another for almost twelve months. There are loads out there, but we need a catalyst to encourage them to gather in one place. Perhaps you will meet other like minded individuals who live near you who fancy flying in a team but who have never had the opportunity before.

When I started I was, and still am surrounded by rev fliers.
They already gather in one place Dunstable Downs, every weekend there is at least 4 or 5 of us and at the Festival there is loads.

I don`t understand why you have to have a name for a mass fly, it is usually called a mega team.

Personally I would lov the chance to do wome Rev team flying - proberly would be completely rubbish - but it looks great fun. However although I know a few other Rev fliers most, if not all, only fly very occassionally so the oppurtunity has never presented itself.

So anything that encourages team flying sound good to me - might even give it a go!
