I think will find the EXP has a lighter frame than the SLE, the standard SLE rods are almost twice the diameter of the EXP...much prefer flying the 1.5 SLE with EXP rods in.
As far a wind conditions go, the SLE will fly with their own rods in much stonger winds, that is when to use them, anything over say 18mph, the ExP rods up to around 15mph.
You won't be wasting your time in getting both sets of rods, one for light to medium wind...EXP 3-15MPH and SLE 15-25 mph anything over then time for a vented Rev or a T-bag version.
