Hi all just a question for anyone here , bit of a daft one i think , what is the difference between rev exp and sle1.5 , am i rite in saying sle will cope with stronger winds and exp for ligther winds , got both exp brand new and sle second cheap , any help would be good as i think mite of wasted money getting both , cheers gusto .

No, the EXP has a cheaper (heavier) frame and heavier sail. The SLE will perform better at either end of the wind spectrum. To get lower wind performance replace the SLE with P200 or for UL conditions with P90 sticks. The spreaders can be replaced with P200 or 3PT or 2PT rods for light winds.

I think will find the EXP has a lighter frame than the SLE, the standard SLE rods are almost twice the diameter of the EXP...much prefer flying the 1.5 SLE with EXP rods in.
As far a wind conditions go, the SLE will fly with their own rods in much stonger winds, that is when to use them, anything over say 18mph, the ExP rods up to around 15mph.
You won't be wasting your time in getting both sets of rods, one for light to medium wind...EXP 3-15MPH and SLE 15-25 mph anything over then time for a vented Rev or a T-bag version.

oops my bad - knew the rods on EXP were lighter but thought the kite was heavier. Thanks Gary

I'm pretty sure the sail for the EXP is not icarex, the SLE is though. Hence, the EXP should be heavier in terms of it's flight characteristics, if not the 'actual' weight.

Yup, your right Keith the EXP sail is a different materiel,it says on the Rev catalogue "Ripstop", mmm not sure, it's more of a cloth type than a Nylon and is a heavier sail than the SLE.
