Airbow Axels

Mon Jan 09, 2006 12:54 pm

Got an Airbow and the Aeolian DVD for Xmas :)

Trying to suss out the axel, looks like its a fast spin in the vertical plane on the DVD with no horizontal component; am I seeing it right?

Any tips?

Cheers .. Mark

Hi Keith,

Looks similar to the DVD I have from the written description of the axel. (Can't open the video file with my locked down company PC)

It is fun flying forwrds and backwards, stopping and spinning. Gonna try the axel again and yoyo next time out.

I see from elsehwere you have a DS, how are you getting on with it?

Cheers .. Mark

I've flown it once when it was too windy - crashed it a few times and it didn't break - and I'm waiting for an opportunity to fly it in 'proper' wind (3-5 mph).

It'll be going with me to the STACK better flying day in Bath in a few weeks - hopefully I will get a chance to fly it again before then...

...p.s. - I'd love to have a go with an Airbow (I'll swap you for a go with my Rev)

I'm up for that - hoping to go to Bidford this w/e. The winds are forecast a bit high at present but that might be fun with the Airbow. I've also bought a used minigem off this forum which I havn't had out in a strong wind yet.

Cheers .. Mark

If you have USB enabled you may be able to !!
Have a look at http://www.portableapps.com there are a whole host of applications you can run from USB !
Do a seach for VLC this is a video player which can run from USB (I have not tested that one personally).

Hope that helps

Cheers Ross, i'll look into that --- just looked at it

http://www.videolan.org/

looks like a 9Mb download and I only have a 128 stick...also i'm a bit of a luddite so a little unsure about it all.

Keith - Saturday looks good 9-10mph on the forecast earlier, but I'll keep watching how the weather develops. No probs if you can't make it. I've put Bidford into windguru, have you seen the revised spot menu?

windguru? wossatthen?

www.windguru.cz

register free, go into settings / custom spots and enter grid co-ordinates for your favourite spot. Use mulitimap to get your coordinates.

Can do tide stuff n allsorts as well.

if you search the existing spot menu via the filters Europe / UK / bidford you'll find the rec ground has been entered.

What do you use for forecasts?

Cheers .. Mark
