indoor revolution

Mon May 30, 2005 1:13 pm

hi guys,
I have just treated myself to an indoor rev, mainly to fly outdoors in 0 to 2 mph, and because i am too lazy to run around with a kite.
i flew it yesterday in minimal wind on short lines and using rev extended handles, it was very lively and took a while to get used to the control needed.
question ? what lines/ handles should i use? should i stuff the leading edge when outdoors? can i get the same control that i have with std, sul and vented rev?
thanks in anticipation of your help.

there are special 13 inch lightweight handles available at gwtw
but they're little different in size from the extended ones you're using now.
and if I were you then you'd be me and I'dd be flying my indoor rev on short lines :P

Roy, just as Nils said really, i have yet to have a go "indoors" but the handles are 1.85 oz and are 14" long, and these allow extreme pitch and control, also has a clean knot system, the basic manouvers really are the "360" and the "up and over".......i would imagine Roy that you will also be able to catch and throw, we do it with the ultra lites on short lines, so you should be able to indoors.....look forward to catching up with you shortly Roy, by the way i recieved the winter league Trophy this weekend!!!!!

cheers Gary the Rev,
can't see me flying indoors, i'm too lazy, i really wanted the 0 to 2 mph for outside, as last sunday flying in thermal draughts.
how short are your short lines ?i've got some line on order and will be making sets up, only got 100 ft in the lightest line at moment, as well as old 50lb spectra, 37 ft long, im thinking of 50 ft and 75 ft sets.
WELL DONE on the trophy you deserved it, catch up with you soon!

I agree, short lines (25-50ft) are great in light to moderate winds. saves a lot of energy too ;)

I doubt you'll ever use your 73ft set. I suggest making that 48ft set first and trying it before you cut up the rest of your climax.

I've got an indoor rev for sale if anyone's interested. Complete with lines and the long wrapped carbon handles. Blue and white in good condition.
