Handles

Fri Jan 14, 2005 10:59 am

I am looking at buying some new handles for my rev.

http://www.freespiritkites.com/pages/qhandles.htm

The guy who makes these lives local and is willing to meet up and sell me some with out postage costs etc.

The Black Knight are 13" long and the Black Crusader are 17" long - what
are peoples thoughts on the best size for rev flying? Bearing in mind that
my control of a rev is worse than my control of a delta.

I have just measured my extended rev handles( recomended by most rev flyers) at 13 inch, and as long as the angle of the dangle is comparable, the 13 inch Black Knight look a good buy.

cheers fungus :-)

They look like traction handles to me. Sorry to put a dampener on the idea but having flown a rev on flexi blade handles, I thought it lost more than it gained. Rev handles have a good weight to them, traction handles tend to be light because if you drop them they get catapulted and could twat someone on the head.

Personally I'd rather fly on STD rev handles than traction handles. I've got some spare flexi traction handles that you're welcome to have in exchange for a SAE if you want to try it Gary.

^^^^^That's all IMHO obviously. There's bound to be someone who loves flying their rev on buggy handles.

Thats what I thought of the 17" ones - but talking to the person who
makes them he recommends the 13" as he has people flying rev's with
them. I was looking at the 17" due to the comments about bigger being
better

Thanks for the offer of the traction handles (how much do you think I could make on ebay with them (joke)).

While I agree and bowing to your experience and admit to always trying to buy genuine rev gear, they also look size-wise a bit rev like, and at 1/2 price of rev orignal, US in the impoverished north have to look for a bargain. :D

Ok - falling in love with my Revs, just ordered a few cobs of line of Chalkie.... now considering everyones advice re: extended handles, i've scouted round the net (uk) and not found much, but what I have seen costs 'brewsters'. Anyone got any ideas?

Not that I've done this as yet but it strikes me that there's not much to a set of REv Handles. I'll take my old Rev Blast handles into Technology tomorrow and try to run up a few copies.

If I actually manage to get this done I'll post a few piccies here.

Don't hold your breath!

Neil, surely with the amont of money you saved on your Revs you buy some "pukka" handles, i use the carbon ones.........lovely.
Theres a few articles on GWTW forum about home made ones, a street lamp is involved somewhere in the making of them......There big handles then!!!!!!
