 I had to stop halfway through to dive to the bottom and check who'd written it.

Hyperbole is and always will be the best reviewing technique in the world, EVAH!

Very enthusiastic reporting, for sure.

However, in George's defence, he is a very well respected kite flier who gave many reliable reviews of different kites over the years. Also, don't forget that the Phantom Elite was really quite revolutionary at the time and did get lots of people very excited about what these new kites were capable of.

I believe that Don Tabor also said at one point that the original Phantom was the "best sport kite in the world" at the time.

High praise indeed, but deserved, IMHO. Both Phantom and Phantom Elite were highly influential kites on the overall evolution of sport kite design.

Dont dispute this at all.

My tongue was in my cheek given all this transfuryfeather hype. Unfashionable kites?? no chance, surely...
