Sermon Explains:

In the beginning is the book of GENESIS,which tells how man discovered SIN and was thus cast out of Eden. Many have since attempted to reach a state of NIRVANA, that is
Spiritual Emancipation or
Supreme Enlightenmnet
and that's worth a few hundred bucks of anybody's money,
....or maybe not.

Being as you like your kite so much perhaps you could
Send Example
then I could say
Sin Experienced
and perhaps become
Strongly Enamoured
but then Craig will think
Sale Expected
and I might say
Spending Ended.

You may have found this
Strongly Engrossing
but by now are crying
Stan!,Enough!
so I'll just say

Sa yo na ra Effendi

Shoud Encourage

you to

Spend Earnings

rather than

Soliciting Eleemosynary

then rather than

Suffer Envy

you'd could

Savor Enjoyment

which

SIN Endows.

...back to the 'review' idea...

I flew two NSEs at Dieppe, both were very nice, and both were VERY different from my first edition Nirvana.

My NFE is an early production one, with cutouts on the leading edges, rubber bands to tension the wingtips, no included weights. Despite much time spent tweaking, this has been a love/hate relationship right from day one.

I really clicked with the SE as soon as I started flying it. Much smaller hand inputs required. The SE kites feel better balanced and seem to have better frame momentum during rotations. A definite improvement!

Might be worth a new thread? Kitehs. vs Level1.
Since I started this one - If you compare, then pls. take the Jumping Jack Flash vs Sin. 8)

Dead right there. :D

I seem to have a vague recollection that this thread was about the NSE.

Not sure there's much mileage in the JJF vs Sin discussion, unless Mike or Frazer have also spent time on the JJF.

Would be an interesting diversion though, although you may have a passing interest in the outcome. :D

I like the JJF. Its a very fine kite. A lot of fun. Nicely made (as are all L1s).

But its smaller that the SIN, precision and speed control not as good.

I'm sure you could compete with JJF's just fine, I just think the SIN would be a better platform.

Marcel Mehler did these things. He just happened to have a Jumping Jack Flash keeping his lines off the ground.

Just 'cos a kite is suitable for someone like Marcel doesn't mean.... etc, etc.

Now then.... this Nirvana SE. Was it in action at EuroCup 2008 ?

Richard was flying one for indi, although I did see him carrying around a previous Nirvana as well. For pair with Mat he flew a Masque.

Laura Mastromauro may have used one - I didn't see her competition stuff but she was flying a NSE on sunday morning ...

Don't recall seeing any others.

At least according to R-Sky the Nirvana SE was indeed used to win DI at EuroCup 2008 in the hands of Richard Debray.

Does that affect our view of the kite ? Is anyone thinking of upgrading to the new version ?

The SE looks a mighty fine kite. Much more muscular looking than the FE. I'd love to have a go on one. And the SE certainly seemed to handle well in the hands of Mr Debray.... but I suspect he could make a bridled brick fly well.
Gotta fly,

Steve

Sure looks tempting. I think I will wait for the SE to get road tested for some time before I think about getting one. The hype of the Extend was pretty huge (and I was drooling) but a friend got one and the mylar was brittle after a few roll-ups. I hope this is built better. Sure looks nice :)

Cheers,
Mike
