Hello! The fabric of my over is deteriorating :(

Sat May 13, 2023 10:05 pm

Hello! The fabric of my over is deteriorating :( and it's not even a year old, what could I do to prevent wear? Maybe some silicone or some kind of coating? Maybe it has deteriorated due to the movement of the c clips? And another question What would be the correct procedure to replace this broken connector? do i have to take out all the c clips and reattach new ones when i replace it? THANKS!! :((

Using leader lines help a lot cutting down wear on the kite.

Use heat CAREFULLY to seal the edges of the fraying fabric, either a soldering iron or a cigarette lighter. Just melt the edges slightly to stop it fraying more.

Leaders are 2m or so length of heavy lines (dacron works or > 200lb dyneema)  attached to the bridle connection points, then you attach your lines to the ends of the leaders
Fat lines wont cut into your sail and fittings as much as thin 80lb lines do, the save a lot of wear and tear
