Loose nose fabric?

Hi guys,

Bought a cheap R-Sky Shooter today second hand, all good but the nose fabric is a bit loose - the two leading edges rotate around the spine a little instead of being flat with it. It gives the effect of one wing going up a little and another coming down a little. Is it worth repairing? if so how? Maybe the nose fabric has just become softer and loose over time.

The sail in the nose looks a bit loose on most pictures of the Shooter. Might even be a little billow in the nose.

Is the vertical stitching in the nose (along the spine, see pic) still ok? Sometimes the Leading Edge rod goes trough the stiching and touches the spine rod.

Maybe post a few pics of the nose of your Shooter?

You are right it generally seems a bit loose. I dont know if it is a big issue but it doesnt look too pretty :(

They both look fine to me, I wouldn't worry.

It looks untidy for sure - but with some wind in the sail and pressure on the frame I'm sure it straighten's itself out.

I wonder if your kites upper spreader is the correct length ... shorter spreaders could cause this ?

Interesting - pushed out the upper spreader a bit further and it straightened out perfectly. Question is - is it worth replacing the current upper spreader just to fix this issue? might be affecting flight. how much would appropriate rod cost in UK? needs to be about inch (2.5cm) longer

I would leave it as is.

A shorter upper spread makes for quicker pitching and roll ups when tricking, so people often modify their kites, shortening the spar.

I don't think the kite will be fine in flight - and you'll potentially have the above benefit - so as the others have said I'd just leave it be.
