ha thanks man, I did indeed need to replace the LE side lines after a few flights. Had a hell of a time getting the kite stable again!
going to check the links you posted and hopefully get it right.

Looking very good!

Those attempts aren't because of your "beginner'ness", the bridle is the main reason for that behaviour in your kite. The speed and small radius of the tight spin turns indicate that the towpoints on your bridle are too close to the spine. They need to be further apart.

Bridle tuning can be a time consuming exercise, BUT it is very rewarding when you find a good setting. Download this PDF for a simple and logical way to find a good bridle setting.

PLEASE NOTE: I have exaggerated the amount of adjustment from the starting point in the document photos. Make small changes (1 cm) each time you alter the bridle

I hope this helps

wow that PDF is marvelous !!! looking back at how I went about replacing the bridle a few weeks ago, I won't say how I did it but it involved screws and the side of a wooden book shelf and measuring tape. haha and didn't work well.

Im loving the ease and flexability of this method. impressed impressed still impressed , will still be impressed when adjusting on next flight, solid very logical, now I have better understanding of the bridle's function just by completing the steps in that PDF. !! thanks for sharing!

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I have a Hat Trick kite I bought back in 1996 and I'm trying to restore it. I moved from England to Australia so it's only just back in my possession again.
I took it out from it's bag and all the rubber leading edge connectors (4 off) (APA connectors?) have broken in half. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement? These look like they might do the job http://www.thekiteshoppe.com/categories ... onnectors/ but delivery to Aus is going to cost me. The only other link I could find is http://www.kitesite.com.au/components/f ... tings.html but they don't look as good as the APA connectors.
I'll be back in the UK for Christmas so any UK / Aus links would be appreciated too.... That's if anyone is still watching this post!
Cheers,
Stewart

They wouldn't have been APA's more likely Tradewinds fittings, however any generic 6mm LE fittings would do the job.

Thanks for the quick reply. So it looks like these might do the job! https://www.kiteworld.co.uk/acatalog/HQ-Leading-Edge-Fitting-6mm-4PK-PVD2106.html#SID=309 Thanks :)
