In your kites, Dave, can you give me an impression on how much the LSs bend, maybe with a picture?

I asked me that too.
It looks like this on my Invictus and the standoffs are really tight

It's a STD, Nitro spreaders (81cm), Kitehouse/Skyshark T and the Standoffs are 26cm from endcap to the flat side of the SO-connector

It's ok, the standoffs are really tight in my kites too! I'll make a photo soon, but they are like andreas photo.

Andreas could you send me a photo of your invictus so i can add it on my web album? :)

Image

Haven´t flown it yet, just high wind since i finished the construction, murphy´s law..... :( :(

As soon as i can test the kite i´ll try to tell how does it feel to me.

best winds

p.s. Davide, thanks for the plans.Just hoping to flight it 30% of how you do.
A question about the measure of the upper spreader, as it seems a little short to me.is 59.3 correct??does the leading edge have to be bend inwards a little bit in the section of the upper spreader connector??

thank u very much!!!

Hi Alex!

Good job, i like it a lot! Looking the kite the upper spreader seems good. It is 59,3cm long, it's right.

Hi, Dave!

Is this normal:
Image

(fixed at 4 points)

I cut precisely all the panels from Rip-Stop Nylon. Than I noticed that the templates from the 2nd page don't fit on the lay-out.
Ok, it's probably curved spine, billow... and not printing error.
Which section of the spine is curved and what can I use for reference point? The 2 ends and the 2 dacron patches?
I will glue the panels in exact the same order: 1, 2, 3.... 8 and I will try to match the overlapping sections first (free on the other edges).

PS: It's my first "real" stunt kite build!

Something is really wrong here!!!
I made screen shots from "InvictusA0.pdf" (zoom -> 100%) and the 2 dacron patches match perfectly (pixel by pixel).
So...... at least one of the two pages is not printed correctly.
I asked to be printed with zero scaling... the guy even told to go next time with .dwp file for more precision (vector lines).

...and here what I discovered:
Image

If the 330mm is the right length -> Great! At least one dimension on one of the panels is OK...
If the 332 is the right number -> 2 Days of extremely precise cutting are waste (with some ripstop unfortunately).

Who is the magic number?

thanks!
this is a good sign....

I will make 7mm overlap to all panels and probably it will be close enough to the original Invictus
If I had an AutoCAD file it would be much easier to do some more random measurements/checks but never mind... I'm gonna sew those panels anyway. ;)

What is the absolute stand-off's length? I will use:
Image
so, the whole stand-off will be longer with 26cm carbon rod.
