Very nice, compliments! I like this colors. You tested it? Tell me what you think about it. :)

Guys if you build the Invictus, could you send me a photo? I'll put this photos in an album on my web site with your names.

Not yet. Unfortunately I have much more time to build kites throughout late evenings rather than flying them. I hope to find some time next weekend.

i had the two panels on the LE the other way around: blue (teal) at the top, black tip

Perhaps there will be a use for all these older kites afterall ... they'll be recycled for scraps of discontinued Icarex.

Zippy8's sat there on an Icarex mine :P

Today I had the chance for a short 30-minutes test flight in admirable bad conditions. My first impression is quite positive, the pull is moderate and tracking is good. I don't use a leach-line, so there is some, but not too loud, sound.
Trickwise, almost the first thing I pulled was a crazy-copter, it turned out that due to the shape all inverse-pitched stuff is very easy. I reduced the tail-weight to 10g only and had no problems with that.
However, I had a bit of a problem with multi-lazys, backspins and a Tazmachine (yes, I agree, it is not necessary that any kite does that as easy as many modern 'german' designs). Once settled on it's back, the kite even creates some lift and I was expecting nice multilazys, but the rotation itself was toooo flat, so I had problems finding the timing for next-rounds input. Backspins felt a bit odd and needed a very agressive input to get a nice rotation. Felt like the kite did not want to go further after the first half rotation. Jacobs Ladders are absolutely easy, though.

But I'm optimistic that there can be some improvement by modifying some details a bit. As everybody has his own style of building some of the details, I guess that kites are never exactly the same. My feeling was that the 26cm long standoffs put too much preasure on the sail and curve the LS too much, so I shortened them a bit. Maybe this was wrong.

In your kites, Dave, can you give me an impression on how much the LSs bend, maybe with a picture? A second detail that should affect the above issues is the relative position of the connectors on the LE compared to the center-T. 'x cm' from the nose always depends on where you put the ruler on and how the nose is made. Nice would be a relative position in the lower panel, or the position inside the LE-cutouts that are marked in the plan. For the moment, I put the connectors in such a way that the LS is straight if viewed from the center-T. But I know that on many kites there is a small curvature in the LS.

Definitely a nice build =D>

Looking forward to the first flight. :P

Davide, thanks! (I will email you a photo later this evening.)

Apa's center on the upper spreader is exactly at 36,8cm from nose, apa's center on the lower spreader is exactly at 100cm from nose. The center t is at 56cm from nose. I take this measurements on tubes, i think they are more precise than in the sail.

I'll add this measurements on the plan as soon as possible! :)

Any one thought of scaling the plan down to say 88% . That would give you a kite with a 2.2m wingspan. Sort of an XS Invictus. In theory, by the way this is my own theory, it should be the same kite but a bit quicker and lighter on the lines. Opinions?

I made a 85% Essence in january: 2,00 m (a bit more because the LE are too long). Frame with plain 6mm rods, but with 5PT's LS.

It is a ultra-radical little kite, but I'm still having troubles finding the right weight.
Supereasy Yoyo's (no slack needed) and Yofades. But very critical in Multilazies and Backspins (didn't expect that).
Tiny inputs for Jacobsladders.

Picture? Wait a minute...

That's a useful information, thanks!
I will check my measurements :D
