Mullin kites group

I've gone retro.

I'm especially looking forward to remaking the acquaintance of the S4, despite the bridle being even more intimidating than the one on the Area 51.

The little un (I can't decide if it's an S2.6 or an Area 40) didn't go into production as far as I know. Now that Mullin have made something of a comeback I'd be interested to see if they resurrect these kites, preferably with a few updates to some of the build details.

Both the S4 and the Area 51 next to it are pretty much time-warp condition, with the miniature not far behind. The red/purple Area 51 has lead a hard life on both sides of the Atlantic. :?

If the time presents itself I'll fly the S4 up against the Dot Darkside and a first run Gemini to for a Back to the Future nostalgia-fest.

The miniature is framed in 4mm tube and would need a lot of work to make it suitable for being the front kite of a stack. But I like the way you're thinking :)

I'm also not at all sure that I could put the other bridles on the right way if I ever took them off. :? Glad I took the pictures this morning as they'd be up to their lower spreaders in snow now.

Yeah, you could do a progressive stack, and then you could get some tails and... um, nevermind.

Very nice acquisition Z. ;)

I'm sure when Nelson went into battle he managed with simpler rigging than that

Tidy looking ensemble there of,it seems, truly inspirational kites. The third kite from the left surely gave Eolo/Preston the idea for the "Tribal"'s graphic and the second kite clearly suggested the layout of Level One's "Jump".

Do you mean you that it's even smaller still than the one I have ? The green/blue little un is about 80% of the Area 51's size.
The third kite from the left ... and the second kite....

are the same kite :P Both Area 51s. I do agree about the visual similarity with this kite and the Tribal though. No other I can recall just now had the single standoff-with-the-effect-of-two arrangement though.

Very nice collection, I sold on my Area 51 last year but Mullins' apogee back in 99 was indeed quite impressive.
A NOHD will be published for the DS in due course, till then wear sunnies.

Hi
I have to ask the S4 and Area51 and the mini Area51 ...did you buy them used ?? I'm 99% sure they were mine in there past life ....

Dave mullins only made 2 mini Area 51 .. one in green and one in the blue and yellow ,,!!

Just wondered ..... I sold them on here sometime ago ...?
