Lunchbreak Sessions: Ulzburger Kites End Of Line STD| IckyTV

Wed Dec 30, 2015 12:26 pm

Birger (Ulzburger Kites) kindly sent me a demo kite of his design: End Of Line. I flew it in variable windspeeds at the Willem Alexanderpark in Utrecht. Here’s a little montage of that lunchbreak session. Watch in HD. Enjoy!

Nice flying and the kite looks as though it handles really nicely.

Any more details on it?

Looks like it flies nicely but from distance looks similar to the SF UL. grey tips, black band, thin fluro band.

... and similar to the Shooter

But ANY kite with a "sunrise" theme using greyscale and a single contrast colour is going to remind us of another pre-existing design

The first design had no stripes. As I'm looking for a minor differentiator for our team kites, I introduced the stripes. In fact, the shooter has inspired me for the stripes.

Please can you share the specs for the different versions of the kite.

Are you planning on making the design/plan open source or selling kites ?

The presentation of flying qualities I want to delegate to Kareloh. I find it difficult to communicate in english. ( Google Translator supports me a little ;-) )

Short overview to the specs:

Dimensions: Wing span 230 cm, High 90 cm, Leading edge (rod) 145 cm, Lower spreader 70 cm, Spine 80 cm, Weight 300g
Frame: LE 6mm CFK (DPP), US 5mm CFK, LS SkyShark 5PT, Spine SkyShark P200

No open source planed. Until further notice, only available from me ("Ulzburger Kites"). Maybe later open source. Or perhaps i found an interested manufacturer. It's all open.
