FLying my stunt kite at Night

Tue Nov 25, 2014 5:19 am

This is the only way I can keep up practicing my stunt kite skills if I want to fly during the week days.

Normally at night there is little wind to fly a stunt kite. That's why I like to keep various UL and SUL kites in my bag.

Where do you fly?, coz all the fields in go are really dark I.e. just about see ya hand in front of your face lol, plus most of the grass land in the UK at the moment is water logged.

That looks awesome.

What lights are those?

How did you do the setting?

I would give it a try.

This are the fields from the Florida International University (FIU) campus located in Miami. Normally they use it for parking when they have events or games in the stadium. They leave some lights on for the students to comes out to play Soccer, Football, Baseball or any recreational activities. Lucky for me there is always a space for me to fly.

One more thing is the weather. When 80% of the US is covered with snow :-( , In South Florida we're not. :-D

Lol them lights do look really good, I fly in County parks, and it's pitch black, in my area that's the only place that's not that built up and can get a good bit of wind with no shadows.
But will say in one of the parks in don't seem to catch the wind till I'm about 2.5 meters off the ground, then it seems to catch the wind and fly up??!!??, you have to pull your lines and run backwards till it takes off

I think I need 2 sets of them lights, 1 for the kite and 1 for me boots so I don't end up in the drink, or dog s#@t lol

here's a little bit more detail on the lights:

I should dig them out and get them working again - the rig needs a little re-soldering.
