Nice pic Nigel. I've stood in that spot a few times over the years, and it's always been foggy. Always wondered what the view was like.

Re: Post your New Kite Pics
My newest creation, The Spectre XUL, this is the second prototype. Sorry for the bad pic, my cam isn't that nice indoors. Wingspan 2.49m, Height 0.95m. Weight 79.9 grams. Haven't flown it yet, with luck the wind will be right at the threshold of non existence Sunday afternoon. Added another picture from this morning. Damn, that thing is hard to get good in a picture. Its so gossamer.

Re: Post your New Kite Pics
So is it a woven fabric or a film?
I've always thought a film would be better for efficiently using all of the air, no matter how tight the weave is some air has to pass through. Unless the fabric is coated, and then you are adding weight.

Re: Post your New Kite Pics
CubenFibre is a mylar film with a sandwhich of dyneeme fibres in a millimeter wide grid , unlike normal mylar which uses polyester in a wide grid. Its extremly strong in the direction of the fibres. Higher weight classes also use carbon, levlar etc and some have high bias fibres that run up to 8 different degress instead of the normal 90 degree.
