Wrist, but holding the strap with between thumb and first finger. I can't get on with finger straps, I don't like the feeling of something around my fingers and in even moderate wind they hurt.

Fingerstraps - Pinky & Ring finger with the strap end (knot) held 'twixt thumb and forefinger.

Wriststraps - Round the wrist holding the knot/strap loop 'twixt thumb and forefinger.

Nope, I hadn't fallen off the map. Although one would be excused for thinking so...

Same as Al, wrist (Boas) holding the strap with between thumb and first finger - with the single exception of my InnerSpace which I fly with HQ finger straps on little and ring fingers.

I use HQ straps. I put them around my wrists. In light winds I like to just hold them - finger and thumb up near the cord, but every now and then slack in the line will wrap around the strap protruding behind my hand which is a complete bitch, so when it matters, I put my hand through the straps, even in light winds.
Gotta fly,

Steve

I use 4" straps around the ring and middle fingers with the ends between my thumb and index finger.
Wrist straps only if my fingers get tired.

Would any one mind taking pictures of how you hold the straps? I can not seem to grasp only using one finger through the loops?

Well as the poll question said about straps I put my answer as 'around my wrists'

I use Carl Robertshaw contour straps and slimline Carl Robertshaw finger straps. The contour straps get used in high winds but for all other lower winds my favorites are definitely the finger straps all the way :D

I had a BSA meteor super about thirty years ago which used the then popular method of cocking a piston by drawing it back to compress a coil spring.IIRC it was about the early 80's I read in "Airgun World" of a new air-rifle that did away with the spring;instead cocking the piston squeezed a pocket of gas, which I think was something other than air.

but if your talking about PCP's then I only know of one man who has done stuff like you peak of

 You can put drugs in air-rifles?.........

I did a quick Google and saw PCP in a forum thread.Putting two and two together I deduce it stands for Pre-Charged Pneumatics.
