SKD Seven/Eco7 STD vs. UL

Mon Oct 10, 2016 8:12 am

Hi

I'm about to order from Jorgen an Eco7 and I am struggling with the dilemma of going with STD vs. going with a UL.

I will be using this kite in the wind range of about 13-16 km/h (with gusts up to 20 km/h (~8-11 mph with gusts of up to 12.5 mph). I already own a Benson DeepSapce UL that I like a lot.

So, based on your experience, should I go with the STD or UL?

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Never flown one, but that wind range says standard to me.

Yes, if you've got the DS UL, I'd definitely go for the Eco7 standard.

Having flown a Seven, you are definitely in standard territory.

Having not flown a seven, I can't help much but you could consider a ul with an extra set of stiffer lower spreaders, or a std with an extra set of lighter spreaders. Has more effect than the rest of the framing in my opinion ...

13-16 is definitely more of the Standard Seven.
I use mine from roughly 10 up to 20 or so. Below that I'm on my Seven SUL, above with the Seven Vented.
Gusts to high 20's it will still ride out.

Jörgen makes a great kite.

that you all for the great help :-)

I have decided to go with the eco7 STD and order in addition a pair of lighter LS.
