The second way to learn the Axel and
the way i learned is this, fly the kite to the edge of the
window to the point where the kite starts to stall as the
pressure on the sail drops, as you feel the kite slowing down
pull on the INSIDE line to start the nose of the kite turning
upwards, as the wing tips become parallel to the ground pop
with the OUTSIDE hand (to initiate the flat spin) and return
the hands to a neutral position and be prepared to move forward
to provide enough slack to complete the trick. The way i learned
the Axel was to break it down into stages (left to right,
turn up, pop, slack) as it was on the edge of the window things
were alot slower, as i progressed i turned these stages into
a single flowing movement. Once you have the Axel nailed on
the edge of the window start moving it towarsd the centre
of the window until you can do a nice flowing , flat axel
, mid-window in a reasonable wind.
