The Static Bridle

The kite is attached to the flying lines by means of the bridle, the most basic of which is the static bridle. In the static bridle there are three legs which meet at the towpoint.

The inhaul, pictured here in blue, runs from the center T (where the spine crosses the lower spreader) to the towpoint. The upper outhaul (red in our diagram) runs from where the upper spreader meets the ULE to the towpoint. The lower outhaul in green here, runs from where the lower spreader meets the LLE to the towpoint.

Although this is adequate for controlling the kite and allowing basic tuning (to be discussed later) this bridle has been superseded by the Turbo Bridle and the Active Bridle.
